the end! 5/28/2010
Wow, a lot has happened to me during the last two months. I won't bore you with all the details - 3 trips to the ER, 9 days
total hospital stay, between 6 & 10 days after the first two chemo treatments of being nausea and losing 10 pounds, only
to regain on the days that I do feel better.

Today, Wednesday July 28th will be my third chemo treatment.

Several people who have already been though this have said to keep a list of things that you want to do on the days that
you do feel well.

Last week, I actually drove my van for the first time since I left Texas and headed to Judy & Woody's home for two
nights. It felt good to get away from all the hubba bubba of every day life. I'm sure my family enjoyed their break too!
One side effect that everyone has warned me about is "chemo brain", because of the cocktail mixture they mix for actual treatment does weird
things to your brain and mind. Like something as simple as adding can be easily mess up. You have 5 people wanting fish burgers figuring
everyone will eat two. Two times ten equaled 20 for my count, so I order 20 of them. To say the least we had enough for dinner that night too!

Because my eating habits have changed for the worst and those few pounds I have left, I need, the doctor said I could have 2 pieces of pie.
chowdahs made with half and half and the mac & cheese. All sounds good, but I think he forgot that a bite of each would make me full.

I'm hoping this cooler weather comes our way. Next weekend is the family reunion at Uncle John's Farm! Can't wait to see everyone. The peach
trees should be ready about Labor Day weekend.

Continue those prayers and well wishes, cards and calls. I may not be able to speak directly to you, but be sure to ask my family members how I'm
doing and I'll try to return a call on the days I'm feeling better.

What I once thought would be easy to keep everyone updated here on this page has been difficult in doing, a task to sit long enough and write. I do
try to get to Facebook and Peter does well at trying to keep the Caring Bridge page alive and well, even if I didn't hurt my uncle, meaning ankle. I'm
guessing we still have our sense of humor together, lol!

After todays treatment the next step will be about August 15th to get a CT scan and compare it to the first looking for shrinkage from the first. Thing
may continue the same way or things may change.

Take care - we need and love you all,
