Words to Live By
In getting ready to leave Braille with a new caretaker, I was asked, just
what words or command do you use with Braille? Because Braille was
taught differently then a sighted dog, words had to be adapted to meet her
needs. Being blind, hand signals just would NOT do, however voice and
touch work well.

When ones sees Braille navigate her world, believe me words are the way
and if I don't have her full attention, all is a matter of life or death. I am
confident that whatever is said or used for words will work. She does well
in an old or new environments when in the care of a loving and trusting
person. I know she will be in good hands even if it's NOT the way I would
do it!
