Tributes to Mr. Seamus
Dearest Janice,

It is with tears that I email you to express my sadness that Seamus has gone on and that we will
have no more visits with him, and with joy that I thank you for the life he had with you. He was
ever our special boy and the time he was with us was very special to all the shelter staff and the
Save A Pet Society volunteers. He was the proverbial "people in a dog suit." He taught us all
about a love of life and a pleasure in the simplest of things that will endure.

He was the classic "throw away dog," too much trouble (needing to be walked or fed or patted or
spoken to, or loved)! for his owners, and was discarded as worthless. But in him we saw a bright
and beautiful soul and we loved him so, I wish when you speak of him that you might consider
that his life began when he came to our shelter, not when he left. He was so dear to us all and it
is painful to have others think that he was not happy or valued while he was with us, as well as
when he went on to you. I know it has never been your intent to say otherwise but some of the
people who loved him here would love to have people know how special he was to us and how
happy we were when we finally gained his custody and could pursue finding him a happy home.
Our greatest fear was that we would be called out to pick up his lifeless body in the street in the
middle of the night. What a terrible loss that would have been for him never to have known real
love or for so all the people who later knew, loved and were touched by him.

I hope if you do any more Boxer days at Petco or come to visit Bristol that you will still come by
to see us. Yes, we will be saddened that he is not there to hug and touch, but we love you too,
Janice! I'm sorry the last time you were there was so brief, and that Lesley didn't get to see you,
but I'm glad that I got to touch that soft coat and that sweet face one last time, if only for a few
minutes. I could have gotten the call before you arrived and not have seen him at all!! Thank you
for keeping us in his life. It meant more than you may know! I have my afghan from Lesley and it
will ever be a treasure to me, Love, Jan
August 3, 2002 - Mr. Seamus reunites with his true first Mom's, the staff, who cared for him
during his frequent visits to the shelter over the years. They loved him and saw his gifts many
years before we did. We appreciate the fact that you didn't give up on him.

He was able to make 2 other visits during this past year and we always kept them updated with
his latest doings and pictures.

I always wished we could of driven by his former owners house together so I could of shouted,
"See me NOW, my life is valued and worth living for and I have friends around the world who
love me! Look what you gave up on!"
